At the centre...

Every home has a central hub around which the daily activities of the family revolve.

The dining table is where most of our tasks are accomplished but there is another space in our drawing room, the centre table (actually it is an old ancestral swing converted to a low table) where we spend many evenings chatting with family & friends.

It is also a space like a canvas where I keep painting various hues in the form of floating flowers, things from our travels, magazines, books...

Here are some vignettes from the ever changing arrangements on my centre table...
Roses and wooden block from Jaipur, Rajasthan

Frangipanis & Pebbles from Nubra Valley, Ladakh.
Wooden Padukas from Jew Town, Kerala

Love them all, especially the frangipani and black pebbles. There's something about the contrating textures and colours that tug at me!

Love all the pottery pieces in which you have flowers/rocks floating. My fav is the Mancala game piece, very intricately carved. My other absolute fav is the wooden block print from Rajasthan. Could you please tell me where I can buy those in BLR? I have been searching those desperately online and they are pricey. When my family visits me from BLR this year, I can ask them to buy those blocks for me ...hope you will let me know so I can direct them to purchase those blocks in BLR. Thanks in advance!!!

Thanks everyone:-)

kram~ The wooden block I picked up from Sanganer in Rajasthan. They are made there. I have seen few blocks on sale during some craft melas.

I haven't seen any store in Bangalore selling blocks.
