do-it yourself, Bulb Plant Holder.
Meena narrates,
"To be honest, I found this bulb in a small but very quaint store called Laras, downtown Ottawa. I picked one up from the store, later tried making many, got my apartment superintendent to help clean out the bulbs, its not something that you can easily do with a kitchen knife (err..realised that after some very painful tries)
Once the inside of the bulb is cleaned out, the rest is fun and easy, decorating it with African beads and shells and anything else that strikes your fancy!"

Now, that is something I would definitely try out:-) The bulb plant holders can add a magical touch to any corner of you home.

Lovely idea.. However.. dont think its as easy as it sounds!! But ofcourse looks fab..

This was one I have been trying to do from many many years.When I was in school,one of my seniors class room entrance was decorated with this.They filled the buld with colured water and beads as well along with a colourful blooming croton.Ever since I keep trying whenever I found a used bulb in house.But somehow could not figure out till date how they could do it.But,yes Meena they are pretty and very beautiful hanging arrangements I always knew.I know its not easy to make this one.A detailed procedure to do it will be more helpful.

Beautiful!! As many have mentioned before it is definitely a difficult project. i plan to assign it to my husband when he is in a good mood ;)!

ReplyDeleteMy apartment superintendent used pliers to pull of the brass rim and chip off the insides..i'm sure there must be several other easier ways,too..it takes a lil patience, but its so pretty, its totally worth the effort! Good Luck! :)

ReplyDeleteIn 2007, I was residing in a gloomy place as my husband had an onsite assignment. We were the only Indians. I was looking for colours as the sky is black and the surroundings are white. People have no taste for colours. They wear black, white, grey, brown. I felt very hungry for colours and want of homely feel. I was also interested in Interior designing. Then I came across your blog. Your blog helped me survive in that gloomy place. So, you are helping many like me giving our Indian storkes on rang decor canvas with your palette of creative Indian(homely) interiors ideas.
All posts are homely and gracious.
I wish you a colourful (rang) future.
